What is a ‘Development Officer’?

Your Development Officer serves as your primary contact to address any enquiries and aid you in achieving the best outcomes for your playgroup. The following is a summary of our responsibilities and how we can support you:

  • Assist in establishing and promoting playgroups and their initiatives in your region.
  • Offer advice, assistance, and resources on various operational aspects of playgroups, including child development through play, committee roles and transitions, incorporation, Playgroup WA membership requirements, insurance, grant applications, fundraising, promotion, member recruitment, advocacy, and venue management.
  • Provide support and guidance to playgroup committee members as required.
  • Provide advice regarding planning and coordinating play events to boost the visibility of community playgroups and early years services in your region.
  • Support playgroups to form partnerships with other community members and organisations including to integrate new parent groups into playgroup, host intergenerational events, to support access and inclusion for parents and children with disabilities, to aid in forming connections with local schools and to access services for families and children.
